Fleetwood Mac
Fleetwood Mac are a British-American rock band, formed in London in 1967. Fleetwood Mac were founded by guitarist Peter Green, drummer Mick Fleetwood and guitarist Jeremy Spencer, before bassist John McVie joined the line-up for their eponymous debut album. Danny Kirwan joined as a third guitarist in 1968. Keyboardist and vocalist Christine Perfect, who contributed as a session musician from the second album, married McVie and joined in 1970, becoming known as Christine McVie. Primarily a British blues band at first, Fleetwood Mac achieved a UK number one with " Albatross", and had other hits such as the singles " Oh Well", " Man of the World", and "The Green Manalishi". All three guitarists left in succession during the early 1970s, replaced by guitarists Bob Welch and Bob Weston and vocalist Dave Walker. By 1974, Welch, Weston and Walker had all either departed or been dismissed, leaving the band without a male lead vocalist or a guitarist. In late 1974, while Fleetwood w ...

Mick Fleetwood
Michael John Kells Fleetwood (born 24 June 1947) is a British musician, songwriter and occasional actor. He is best known as the drummer, co-founder, and leader of the rock band Fleetwood Mac. Fleetwood, whose surname was merged with that of the group's bassist John "Mac" McVie to form the name of the band, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Fleetwood Mac in 1998. Born in Redruth, Cornwall, Fleetwood lived in Egypt and Norway for much of his childhood. Choosing to follow his musical interests, Fleetwood travelled to London at the age of 15, eventually forming the first incarnation of Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green, Jeremy Spencer and Bob Brunning. After several album releases and line-up changes, the group moved to the United States in 1974. Fleetwood then invited Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks to join. Buckingham and Nicks contributed to much of Fleetwood Mac's later commercial success, including the celebrated album '' Rumours'', while Fleetwood's own ...

Crystal (Fleetwood Mac Song)
"Crystal" is a song by the British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac from their 1975 '' eponymous album''. Written by Stevie Nicks, the song originally appeared on her and Lindsey Buckingham’s studio album, '' Buckingham Nicks'' (1973). Two years later, after joining Fleetwood Mac, it was re-recorded and released for a second time. In 1998, Nicks re-recorded the song with herself on lead vocals for the '' Practical Magic'' soundtrack. Background “Crystal” first appeared on ''Buckingham Nicks'', an album recorded by Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks in 1973 prior to their time in Fleetwood Mac. In her book ''Stevie Nicks: Visions, Dreams & Rumours'', Zoë Howe stated that the Nicks wrote "Crystal" with her father and grandfather in mind. Despite being written by Nicks, the song was instead sung by Buckingham partially because producer Keith Olsen believed that his vocal timbre suited the song better. This version also featured an oboe at the end of each chorus. Following ...

The Wild Heart (album)
''The Wild Heart'' is the second solo studio album by American singer and songwriter Stevie Nicks. Recording began in late 1982, shortly after the end of Fleetwood Mac's ''Mirage'' Tour. After the death of her best friend, Robin Anderson, and with new appreciation for her life and career, Nicks recorded the album in only a few months and was released on June 10, 1983, a year after Fleetwood Mac's '' Mirage'' album. It peaked at number five on the US ''Billboard'' 200 (for seven consecutive weeks) and achieved platinum status on September 12, 1983. The album has shipped 2 million copies in the US alone. The album is notable for its array of prominent guest musicians. Tom Petty made a return to write " I Will Run to You", on which his bandmates from The Heartbreakers performed. Nicks' Fleetwood Mac bandmate, Mick Fleetwood, made an appearance on the track "Sable on Blonde". Toto's Steve Lukather contributed some of the guitar work on what would become the album's biggest hit ...

Shake The Cage Tour
The Shake the Cage Tour, by the Anglo-American rock group Fleetwood Mac, began on September 30, 1987, in Kansas City, Missouri, and ended on June 28, 1988, in Manchester, England. It was their first tour since 1974 without Lindsey Buckingham, who left the band in August 1987. History Although the album ''Tango in the Night'' included Lindsey Buckingham, the guitarist quit at a band meeting to discuss the tour. "We'd signed the contracts," Stevie Nicks noted. "We couldn't call in and say, 'Oh, we can't do the tour.' We had to do it, or Fleetwood Mac would have been sued forever." Buckingham was replaced by rockabilly singer and guitarist Billy Burnette and lead guitarist and session musician Rick Vito. The former contributed to Mick Fleetwood's solo album '' I'm Not Me'', as a member of Mick Fleetwood's Zoo. Recently recovered from cocaine addiction, Nicks was prescribed a heavy duty tranquilizer, to which she became addicted until the mid 1990s. The band played at the Roc ...

In the United Kingdom, the single was Nicks' first 12" release, featuring a different glossy picture sleeve and the inclusion of a third track, "Wild Heart". A 12" promotional single was also released to United States radio stations in 1983, featuring a full-colour sleeve, but playing the standard album version (in mono and stereo) on both sides. Mirage (Fleetwood Mac Album)
''Mirage'' is the thirteenth studio album by British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, released on 18 June 1982 by Warner Bros. Records. This studio effort's soft rock sound stood in stark contrast to its more experimental predecessor, 1979's ''Tusk''. ''Mirage'' yielded several singles: " Hold Me" (which peaked at number four on the US '' Billboard'' Pop Chart, remaining there for seven weeks), "Gypsy" (number 12 US Pop Chart), " Love in Store" (number 22 US Pop Chart), "Oh Diane" (number nine in the UK), and " Can't Go Back" (number 83 in the UK). Background Following a hiatus of over a year after the completion of the worldwide ''Tusk'' tour, the band temporarily relocated to Château d'Hérouville in France to record a new album. By this time Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood, and Lindsey Buckingham had each commenced a solo career, the former to multi-platinum number-one success with 1981's '' Bella Donna'', the latter faring not as well with his first outing ''Law and Order' ...

Hold Me (Fleetwood Mac Song)
"Hold Me" is a single by British-American rock group Fleetwood Mac. The song was the first track to be released from the album '' Mirage'' (1982), the thirteenth album by the band. Lindsey Buckingham was main producer with Richard Dashut and Ken Caillat. Christine McVie and Buckingham were the lead vocalists. Background "Hold Me" was written by Christine McVie and Robbie Patton. During one of the recording sessions, guitarist Lindsey Buckingham suggested that he and McVie perform "Hold Me" as a duet similar to " Don't Stop". The two vocalists sang their parts with the studio windows open over the Paris countryside. '' Cash Box'' said that "the catchy hook, the solid rhythm and, of course, the female harmonies all come together in a package that can’t beat." Released in June 1982 in advance of the album itself, the song became one of Fleetwood Mac's biggest hits in the United States, peaking at 4 for a then-record seven consecutive weeks, from July 24, 1982 to September 4, ...

Heroes Are Hard To Find
''Heroes Are Hard to Find'' is the ninth studio album by the British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, released on 13 September 1974. This is the last album recorded with Bob Welch, who left the band at the end of 1974. It was the first Fleetwood Mac studio album recorded in the United States, in Los Angeles. The album was recorded during a low point for the group, with Bob Weston's affair with drummer Mick Fleetwood's wife causing a temporary disbandment, which led to subsequent legal problems when manager Clifford Davis organized a completely new lineup using the Fleetwood Mac name to fulfill their remaining tour dates. When the situation was being settled, the original band reformed and Welch was persuaded to return for one more album, but left permanently by the end of 1974. The title track was edited and issued as a single but it failed to chart. '' Cash Box'' said of the title song that "tight sweet harmonies back Christine_McVie.html"_;"title="ead_singer_Christine_McV ...

Dust My Broom
"Dust My Broom" is a blues song originally recorded as "I Believe I'll Dust My Broom" by American blues artist Robert Johnson in 1936. It is a solo performance in the Delta blues-style with Johnson's vocal accompanied by his acoustic guitar. As with many of his songs, it is based on earlier blues songs, the earliest of which has been identified as "I Believe I'll Make a Change", recorded by the Sparks brothers as " Pinetop and Lindberg" in 1932. Johnson's guitar work features an early use of a boogie rhythm pattern, which is seen as a major innovation, as well as a repeating triplets figure. In 1951, Elmore James recorded the song as "Dust My Broom" and "made it the classic as we know it", according to blues historian Gerard Herzhaft. James' slide guitar adaptation of Johnson's triplet figure has been identified as one of the most famous blues guitar riffs and has inspired many rock performers. The song has become a blues standard, with numerous renditions by a variety of mu ...
